Jiangsu-Macau Principals' Forum Held in Macau
On October 18, the Jiangsu-Macau Principals' Forum was held in Macau, organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau, and hosted by Jiangsu Education for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange and the Chinese Educators Association of Macau. Pan Wenqing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Communist Youth League, attended the event. Yuan Jingyu, Deputy Director-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and Huang Jiaqi, Deputy Director of the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau, delivered keynote speeches. Representatives from the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, the Macau Women's Federation, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education’s Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Affairs Office, Jiangsu Education for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange and the Nanjing Municipal Education Bureau also participated.
As part of the 14th Jiangsu-Macau Portuguese-speaking Countries Business Summit, this forum focused on "Excellence in Education through a STEM Perspective", bringing together nearly 60 representatives from Jiangsu and Macau, including 19 school principals from Jiangsu and 26 from Macau. Attendees discussed interdisciplinary talent cultivation and other pressing educational issues, as well as opportunities for deepening education cooperation between the two regions.
Yuan Jingyu provided an in-depth overview of the mission, vision, and actions of STEM education in Jiangsu’s basic education system. He emphasized that Jiangsu highly values its educational cooperation with Macau, noting the continuous expansion of exchanges, broadening of collaborative fields, and deepening of partnerships. He expressed hope that the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau Basic Education Cooperation Alliance would leverage the strengths of all parties, further facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation and produce the finest results.
Principals from Zhonghua High School in Nanjing, Pui Ching Middle School in Macau, Taicang Experimental Primary School, and Labor School of Macau delivered thematic speeches, sharing insights on how their schools integrate STEM education into their philosophy and practices. Jiangsu Nanqing Senior High School and Macau Pui Ching Middle School, along with Nanjing Normal University Affiliated Primary School (Tiebeixincheng Campus) and the Macau Women's Federation School, signed agreements to co-develop STEM joint teaching workshops, leveraging their strengths to foster students' innovation, problem-solving skills, and interdisciplinary learning, thereby promoting STEM education and innovation in both regions.

In recent years, with active support from the education departments and schools of Jiangsu and Macau, educational cooperation between the two regions has made significant progress. The integration of education between Jiangsu and Macau continues to advance, with deepening school partnerships, expanding student and teacher exchanges, and strengthening policy support.
In 2021, the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Cooperation Alliance was established, followed by the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau Basic Education Cooperation Alliance in 2023. To date, nearly 50 academic conferences have been held, along with more than 50 cultural exchange activities such as summer camps, winter camps, and arts exchanges. Over a thousand teachers and students have participated in learning exchanges in Macau and Jiangsu.
