To further enhance basic education cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan, the Jiangsu Education Center for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Education Exchange has been hosting the Jiangsu-Taiwan Basic Education Development Forum since 2015. Guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Forum invites education experts and school principals from both regions. Through keynote speeches, expert reports, group discussions, and school visits, participants explore challenges and opportunities in basic education, promoting practical educational exchange and cooperation between Jiangsu and Taiwan provinces.

The Forum leverages shared educational achievements, historical heritage, and cultural customs of Jiangsu and Taiwan to establish a sustainable mechanism for basic education cooperation. It has become a vital platform for youth and basic education exchange across the strait, fostering partnerships between 79 primary and secondary schools in Jiangsu and 63 in Taiwan, and facilitating discussions among over 700 principals and experts in basic education. Notable initiatives include "Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart—Jiangsu-Taiwan Students Together" and "Heartwarming Trip to Jiangsu for Taiwanese Teachers and Students". These programs promote deep exchanges in student interactions, teacher visits, and educational research, injecting vitality, warmth, and momentum into the peace and integration between Jiangsu and Taiwan.
