Nanjing

As the capital of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing is an important center city in eastern China and a mega city in the Yangtze River Delta. A few characteristics stand out: First, it has profound historical heritages. Nanjing is a cradle of Chinese civilization. It is known as the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties and the Capital of the Ten Regimes. It has a history of nearly 3000 years as an established city and served as the capital of China for nearly 450 years. It is among the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, and has been listed as a UNESCO City of Literature. 

Second, it boasts sound developing momentum. In the past five years, Nanjing’s GDP has exceeded five one-trillion-Yuan marks. Last year, the city's GDP reached 1.74 trillion yuan, among top ten nationwide. General budget revenue grew by 4 percent and sales of social consumption products grew by 4.7 percent. 

Third, Nanjing is blessed with rich talent resources. As an important scientific and educational base in China, Nanjing boasts 51 universities, 970,000 on-campus universities students, and 94 academicians. The number of "double first-class" universities ranks third in China, and the number of college students per 10,000 people ranks first in China. 

Fourthly, Nanjing is a preferable city for both living and working. Thanks to the harmonious integration of mountains, waters, urban areas, and forests, Nanjing has won the first place (of Whole City Awards category) at the International Awards for Liveable Communities, an excellent tourist destination nationwide, and a national ecological garden city. The city is home to 25 Thirdgrade hospitals (the highest of China's three-tier grading system) and has become an example for its balanced development of compulsory education. Nanjing has ranked the first in Jiangsu province in terms of its basic public service index for six consecutive years. It has been rated as one of the Happiest Cities in China for 14 times. 

Fifth, the market space is broad. Nanjing Metropolitan circle, the first of its kind approved in China, spans 9 cities in Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces, and covers a population of 36 million, and the total GDP of this metropolitan circle exceeded 4.9 trillion yuan.
