A special open day session was given by JESIE to Senior 1 students at Xinghua Middle School on 2nd Novmber. This time, the subject was 'countries and continents', featuring a particular focus on interesting places to visit, famous food, famous personalities, sports and cultural festivals. 

Beginning with a general introduction and explanation of the topic, proceedings led quickly into a series of team games. The students enjoyed the competitive element, especially when rewarded with chocolate! 

In the second half of the session, it was time for the students to do some work.. to this end, they produced and presented (to the whole class), a written synopsis of a country selected for them. Their teacher assisted them in this group task by providing a writing frame and supplementary materials. Finally, a recap was given to check that the students had learned the new material effectively.
