| Why did you choose JESIE? I knew I wanted to be in Nanjing, specifically the Gulou district which is the heart of the city. I was first attracted to JESIE's highly professional web-presence signed on for the chance to work with Nanjing's top public primary schools. The location and working hours offered to me were also ideal.What do you think about JESIE? I think JESIE is an excellent place to come grow as a teacher. The standards are high and the quality of teaching is regularly audited, but there is ample academic support so meeting those standards is no problem for dedicated teachers. JESIE is not exaggerating when they say they work with Jiangsu Province's best public schools.Do you enjoy your life as an employee of JESIE in China? JESIE acts as an excellent liaison between teachers and the schools they work for, so I can focus on my teaching. Even after 4 years studying education and quite a bit of classroom experience, my first year of teaching has come with both disappointment and reward, as I think it would for any teacher pursuing professional excellence. Outside of the teaching my life here is fun and colorful and I feel a sense of belonging among both expats and Chinese people in Nanjing.How is JESIE different from your previous employers? The teaching staff at JESIE is excellent, and I have had more opportunities to build strong friendships among my coworkers than at my previous jobs. The week-long orientation before each semester is an awesome bonding experience. Being close friends with other teachers teaching the same curriculum to the same grades helps me deliver solid lessons every week and supports my professional development. JESIE does require a lot more paperwork than my previous employers, but as a new teacher they paperwork is actually helping me process and learn from my teaching. |
